Yes they do ... I know the True Talker works for me.
Last season I sat in my stand and used my True Talker ten minutes later a couple of small four points came in.
Even when I had does at a distance I used my True Talker and had bucks come in with out spooking the does.

Right time of year and all that with the right deer, YUP.... they work like a charm when they work. When they don't they ignore your pleas. I've had them come running and had them GO Running.

Sure do. They aren't magic, so they won't work everytime. The first time they work for you, I bet you say they do. I agree they aren't the most effective call on the market (although probably the most versitile), I believe in them.

They've worked for me in the past. I'm a big fan of the true talker too. Even if not calling in deer I've used them to get deer to move so that I'll have a better shot so that in itself is worth taking one with you.

I used a grunt call this year more than I have in the past, mostly because the U.P. deer seem to get a little nervous when there is a buck around, but here in IL, the grunt worked much better. I think the bleat can is probably the best bet if you are calling, but I did get my buck this year with the snort-wheeze. He came about 60 yards right to me after I snort-wheezed. I couldn't believe it!

95% of the buck's I have taken with a bow have came in either to blind calls or when I have a visual and can work it while watching their reactions. Do Grunt calls work? Abso damn Lutly anyone who isn't using them is missing out on serious oppertunities. I have had bucks that just won't respond but they also didn't spook so long of the short of it you really have nothing to lose and usually a lot to gain.
