My deer is alive and well!
I am writing to follow up on my previous post about the deer i made a bad shot on. I just skimmed his back and he ran off almost like nothing happened.
Well i just checked my trail camera and there he is (In the bottom corner). He appears to be fine. Im hoping that next time i check it i will have some better pictures of him, ones where you can see where i hit him rather then just his head and rack. I am so happy that this deer is alright and im glad i didnt kill this deer. He definately needs another year!
Good news is also in some of the other pictures there is another big deer that is quite a bit larger then the 9. He is definately a shooter and will be even bigger next year! Hopefully i can get his sheds this year.

RE: My deer is alive and well!
Thats great news! We've all been there and makes us sick to our stomachs when a bad shot is made. Good to see he's still around and hopefully you get a chance next year. When I was young I took a bad shot at a nine pointer and left a scar across the front of his neck. The next year my dad shot him as an 11 point and got him mounted and I get to see that scar everytimeI visit home and my dad always teased me about it. Good luck to you!!

better get that guy some food!! how long ago was he hit??? to me he doesnt look all too healthy...i fear infection or something may caught him. i seen a buck shot in the leg 2 weeks earlier then when i seen it. he looked like that buck..real thin and scraggly and infection took over him and his wound BADLY..didnt look like he ate much at all in them 2 weeks. keep and eye on him...cant say for sure but deer shouldnt be that thin
