I don't like poachers anymore than the next guy but how do you know this was a poaching attempt and not something else.
I agree that the natural assumption would be that someone tried to shoot it,but who really knows.

We have a relatively hard time with poachers around here too. Its tough here though because the WCO's have to cover a large distance whenever you need them so sometimes it takes awhile.
I haven't ran into any poaching incidents this year thankfully, but someone dthrew 3 deer carcasses (missing the hing quarters and cut antlers) into spots where we hunt private land. [:@] What I wouldn't give to be a WCO sometimes.

Truly a shame, He would have been a Great trophy for those of us that understand the true meaning of one on one, or FAIR CHASE! Poachers are criminals! Thay steel from our Experineces, our Opportunity, our Success. I RAP one every chance I get!!

I cant see it verry well,but how can you tell its a bullet wound?Ive seen jaw shot deer before,but how do you know that wasnt from something else,mabe even a large predator broke his jaw trying to drag him down.
