Two comments.First one is that the buck that initially survived is a remarkable animal.Nature being as raw as it can sometimes be.Part of me thinks that buck got cheated.Would it have survived had it freed itself is anyboody's guess.Nature does what nature does.
The second comment is for the poor WCO with B. Fife on her uniform. She has to take some razing on that! (for the youngsters on the site,Barney Fife was a bumbling, helpless sherrifs deputy on an old TV show).

I have met and had dealings with Beth Fife. She is a very capable and professional WCO that will help you any way she can. She drove20 miles to meet me in the woods to try to help me free a buck that was stuck in a fence. There are none better than her in my book.

My comment was about her name not her credibility. We have a state police barracks locally that is troop F.Those officers take some ribbing.(for those that remember F troop).I was in no way insulting Beth, glad to hear that she is a great officer!

I wasn't really commenting on your joke about her name, just her character. Tell you the truth, I never made the connection with her name but it is kinda funny now that you mention it. She is the kind of person that would probably laugh about it if you brought it up to her. She never checked me or asked in any way about my license when we met in the woods that day. She is the type that you automatically have respect for when you meet her. You can tell she is very serious about her job and loves it to no end. She will treat you with that same respect and offer to assist you in any way. We couldn't save the buck so I tagged it so it wouldn't go to waste. She dragged it for me and loaded it on her truck and delivered it to my house. My license fee paid me big dividends on that day. I hope every hunter gets the priviledge to meet her some day.

Livbucks, deer 902, this apparently occurred in our end of 2B but not specifically where we hunt. I grew up in the borough where these two deer were found and I'm trying to find out more specifics. I'm amazed it didnt make the local papers.
