Do we get offended to easily?

RE: Do we get offended to easily?
Im my hunting circles, does are the last thing you want anyone to know you harvested, and a photo of you and yourdoe will definitally get you at the brunt of many jokes. We only get one deer tag where I'm at, and it seems better to eat tag soup than shoot a doe...
....cow elk, now that is a different story..

I take pics of my does and I'm proud of every deer I shoot, doe or buck..
BUT, come Thanksgiving and Christmas better be ready for some bashing between uncles, brothers, and even my wife.. I have five does this year and my wife has an eight pointer (that I passed during bow season, lol).. I've never been more proud of her but come family events she is the mighty hunter and everyone makes sure that I know it...
My brother has hunted as long as me and has never killed a big buck so imagine the torture he goes through, although he puts in more time and has killed more deer than any of us as a total.
And I shouldn't say it but the little smokies we have for family meals are nicknamed after me, (little Chris') ha ha ha, they are just jealous.. This started many many years ago with some deer sausage humor, BUT it's all in fun and nobody get offended...
Anyway, take is easy and have fun with it... It's part of hunting and life.. Smile a little and be proud of the animals you take each year.. IF you can throw it over your shoulder instead of dragging it out you best be ready for some bashing though, lol... But when ya shoot the monster it's your turn..
Enjoy

I don't really post much as far as sarcastic stuff on here as people get offended easily in general if you don't really know them. Now when I am around my friends, theres hardly a sentence spoke that isn't that way, were always joking around and giving a hard time.

Yes and I concur the problem lies within the text, people cannot read the emotion behind the post when most of the time it's meant well.
The use of the smilies helps but some use the smilies as a cover up, they actually take a personal jab and then throw a wink behind it when it was clearly meant to insult.

That is kinda like what happened to me this season turkey hunting.
I went out the same time that my nephew did,we were both back in about 35-40 minutes with turkeys.Mine was a Jake and his was a 24# bird with a 10 1/2" beard and 1 1/4" spurs. I never heard the end of it and I loved it,especially for him.He Was 12(hunting with his papaw)
The best part was it was our 1st birds.
The ribbing is what makes it special.
I agree with the others though,it is hard to tell if someone is just a jerk or just poking fun on the internet.
Be sure to use those smiley faces.

RE: Do we get offended to easily?
As a lovely lady, Cathy, used to say, "it's suppose to be fun". Hunting is "suppose to be fun". It's not about ME ... ME >>> ME. It's about the challenge, the game, the fellowship, or the personnal alone time. Which ever way you see it.... "it's suppose to be fun". Today people are shamed with their QDM, my buck is bigger than yours, do it my way or don't do it etc. I honestly remember and hunted and charish the times when the guy who got a deer was honestly congratulated for being in the right place.HE was the rarity. Deer numbers were low. Hunting was a social occasion. Then we went into a time of growing herds, bow hunting etc. Now it all seems to be Growing deer. Today it's not terribly difficult to kill a deer. It's not hard to be in the right place when there are so many. Today it's a land of posted signs, expensive leases and expensive hunting. The fun is fading for most. It's more and more becoming a "ME" or "Macho". I remember the time when we(everyone) went from partridge to deer to snowshoe rabbits to running a spring time trap line. Today it's deer, scouting "MY LEASE", to planting food plots, to "HARVESTING" to MY 150 buck. It's suppose to be fun. I'll soon be hunting snowshoes while some talk of their 180 buck they saw but couldn't harvest. "I owe it all to QDM yada yada yada". It's suppose to be fun. It's not a competition. Oh sure we joke, poke fun, and all that.... but it's all in fun.I think some people should rethink their values. Which is more important. Scouting every night of the summer so I can shoot "THE BIG ONE" or maybe spending some quality time with the family. That can be fun. QDM is ultimately going to be the end of hunting as it should be. "It should be fun". Does this have anything to do with "do we get offended to easily"? Nope, probably not, but it's all in the same zone.
