is hunting a sport?

RE: is hunting a sport?
No I think it's more of a hobby or activity and for most of us, a lifestyle. There is no competition really except you vs. the deer. I guess it comes down to what you define a sport, but for me, not a sport.

ABarofsoap,
I don't mind realistic posts from people that are genuinely interested in telling or learning something. But sometimes it seems that you have too much time on your hands and just post to "hear yourself talk". You can't be serious with this one. Most hunting equipment can be purchased at a SPORTING GOODS STORE. That should answer your question right there.

In sports there are winners and losers.
In hunting there can be two winners, the animal that evaded the hunter and the hunter that came home empty handed, but enjoyed the experience.
I don't consider it a sport as much as I do an extremely enjoyable hobby.
