I've been privileged to have taken two spring gobblers and now one fall bird with the bow. Most of my troubles were from wrong arrow placement. Sadly I've skewered4 birds that were never recovered. In fact I vowed to never hunt birds with the bow again until I could prove to my self I could kill one. Let me tell you that "back door" shot is deadly! AND the hip shot mentioned earlier is also deadly. Mechs are definitely the way to go - pass through is bad, stick and stay is better for birds. I use the NAP gobble stoppers, but any mech will do the trick.
Blinds are easier than no blind, but the action is fun either way.
One word of advise, if you stick a bird do not let it out of your sight. They do not normally bleed much and will only have one good flight in them if mortally wounded, so don't let them out of your sight. As soon as you stick one get after it. If it can't fly, but can run you will run it down and step on it's neck.
I was privileged to collect my first Hoosier double this year with the bow. We're limited to a bag of one for spring and one for fall regardless of weapon. I took both a spring and a fall bird with my bow this year - very fortunate.
Birds by bow - that's a rush!!!

Thanks for all the input guys, I think Ill give it a shot. I used a shot gun this last spring and had good luck and a lot of fun (nothing like the thunder in the woods) Im pretty sure the excitement is going to multiply by using a bow.

16 longbeards and 8 hens. I demand it for sure. In all fairness the place I hunt has a really good supply of birds. There is an art to getting drawn on them. If you can master getting drawn on turkeys deer are a piece of cake. I use G5strikers and most times it kills them on the spot. I have had to do some hand to bird combat a few times though. Let me tell you a ticked off turkey is a pertty good fight. BHO only for me and turkeys.
