RE: Ever found any gear while out hunting?
found a .22 rifle one day grouse hunting on a local farm, was starting to rust. Dropped it off at the farmers house he said local guys racoon hunting had lost it, put it against a tree to deal with dogs, then walked off without it and couldn't find it.

An old climbing stand by Strong Bilt. It had been left in the tree about 6' up. The tree was starting to grow around it. It was heck getting it out. I still have it although I don't use it very often. The property owner thought it belonged to a poacher/trespasser. If so I'm glad he lost it to me!

I found a nice brand name FRS radio one time , a day later I found a broken True Talker call on the same property . I generally find small items nearly every time I hunt public land , usually trail markers and drag rags .

Last year while my wife and brother were out in my woods she came across a handkerchief. She was about to pick it up when my brother reminded her to never pick up a hankie in our wood...

I take my watch off before I wipe with my headnet.
Lost a $100 that was stuck to my handkerchief, once, too. I'd hope people would do the right thing.
I'm just sayin.....

Found a hat on my side of the property line of a neighbor that used to hunt the place without permission before we posted it. Even though we asked him not to hunt he still went there all the time at this point.
Anyhow he owns a considerable chunk on the other side so the following springI went to talk w/ them about whether he wanted go in onself imposed antler restrictions with us and the other neighbor. When I went to his place I wore the hat. You should have seen the look on his face.
Best part is that the hat was a camo hat with the name of his business on it. He never said a word..........[8D]. Haven't caught him or seen tracks from him on it since.
