I used to worry about this.....from an ethical standpoint. My first deer of '06 bounded out of sight with 1/3 of my arrow sticking out of him (although the broadhead did penetrate the off side). he went 100-120yds.
My second deer of '06 died in +/- 45 sec.
3rd deer was dead in 30 sec.
4th deer was dead in less than all of them.....though he ran 60 yds.
I don't have any problems with how we mete out death to these animals. I think it's (in my limited experience) very humane.
