05 Bowtech Allegiance
Hey guys,
I just ran across a guy selling an 05 Bowtech Allegience fully loaded with three arrows and a case for $600. I think I might pick it up.
Any of you guys have any opinions on this bow for this price.
It has a drop away, a viper sight with light, and a fuse stabalizer.
Tom

You need to replace the cams on the 05 binaries to change DL. You really need to call a local Bowtech dealer and get a price first if you don't have access to a suitable press and do your own maintenence.

the alligiance is a great bow,the sportsmans wharehouse that I have service my bows swaped out the cams on my old glory for free, they have these cams on a shelf and if they take an e7 off and put an e9 on they still have the cams for someone else as opposed to making a person buy a set every time you change.I dont know if every shop will do this maybe were just lucky around here but the fact that they tune, install parts that I dont buy there, serve the string when it needs it,let me use the chrono and shoot in the store whenever I want, comes back to them when I refer all my friends and relatives to them.Find a good shop like this.as for the price,600 is not a steel for an 05.I baught my 05 old glory this summer for 375 brand new, never shot, with the hat, birth cirtificate, manual, warranty card, the works.I baught my 04 black knight for 3d tournys for 350 a year ago,I will never buy anything but a bowtech but I also will not pay 729 for an 06 old glory like my cousin did 2 months ago

If you decide to buy the 05' Allegiance.I might be able to help you out with the cams to change your draw length. But,you will need to put the bow in a press to change them.My Dealer has a few sets of cams that he would sell.

Pretty much what everyone else said is all you need to know. The biggest issue is definitely the cams, as they are draw length specific. If you can find the ones you need for a reasonable price, and find a shop to put them on for you, it's not a bad deal. Although I think hch is right, you can probably find an 06 with adjustable modules for less money if you keep your eyes peeled. This is the time of year when bows start to magically appear in the Classifieds and places like ebay.
I own and am currently shooting an 05 Allegiance and I love it. Couldn't be happier with the bow, the way it shoots, or its performance at the range or in the field. I haven't had a single problem with it and look forward to shooting this bow for as long as I can manage to pull it back.
Of course I'm in the market for a new bow this year, so we'll see where I end up. Gonna shoot a whole bunch of them and see which I like best, then make the call from there.
