1.5 months of hunting and the deer are still nocturnal
ive been hunting every single weekend since opening alll day and have seen 1 buck and on a cupple does, the deer are really moving at night, i find new rubs/scrapes everyday, and have plenty of buck pics om my trail cams, ive tried everything for mock scrapers to the drippers that just drip during the day time.
Nothing seems to work and its starting to feel like its not worth the long trip if this keeps up

You're preachin to the choir my friend, preachin to the choir. I don't know what a fella's gotta do, but I'm not doin it, whatever it is. I feel you pain.
Just keep at it. Mix things up a bit, don't huntthe same stands over and over.

i dont think were the only ones with this problem, i heard very very few gun shots, and on the way home i saw about 6 deer carts attached to cars with zero deer on any of them, idk whats going on in the area i hunt. maybe the deer figured out night is the safest time to move.

RE: 1.5 months of hunting and the deer are still nocturnal
Same for me I have hunted over 20 days and hardly seen any deer.... UNTILL I found a spot deep in the thick part of the woods on a small river bottom. On Thursday I put up a stand in the middle of the day and on Friday morn I shot amedium 8 point after seeing 6 doe. My buddy sat in it on sat morning and he saw 21 doe and 1 small spike.
Move your stand. Find a travel route and sneak in a new spot to sit. Finding a choke point or a high travel route is better than hunting over food, bait or crops. At for me this year that is the case. Deer wearing out my food plots, feeders and such only after dark.

I'm finding right now during the rut ,that the deer are moving alot during the middle of the day here in Ont ,change your pattern as the deer might have as well and try hunting in the middle of the day.
Last week during the middle of the day I seen a lot of deer moving in the hardwood's around the noon hour time frame .
Just a thought ,give it a try.

Yep, I ran into the guys from Summit today over in Illinois getting ready to head back home; they had a couple nice racks in the back of the truck, and they told me they saw 99% of their activity between 11-2 this year.
I saw a shooter buck from 100 yards away at 2 today, and then not much more. The woods filled up after shooting light, though. I was surrounded by deer!

I don't want to speak for YOUR situation.....but I've found out that "my" deer pop. just won't stand for scents/calls/etc... It's COMPLETELY foreign to them....and they WILL NOT be hunted like the deer hunting we see on TV. I've adopted the philosophy that I need to be as scent-free and stealth as I can be......and take my chances. There are NO "gimmicks" in my neck of the woods.
