Good luck guys. There are few feelings better than that anticipation you get when looking at your vehicle all packed for a long hunting/road trip that is about to begin with good friends.

Jeff or should I call you "Pops"?, I'm a little late on this but just wanted to wish you and "Gramps" aka Rob good luck this weekend. I'm sure you guys will have a great time. I'm sure Gramps is probably half way there by now or at least close to it. That's great you do that for that family. If I ever have any extra meat I donate it to FHFH. But usually that doesn't happen because I end up having to give some to my brother, mom and dad, and my in-laws, so by that time not much is left over. But I have donated in the past.

Good Luck guys, go git'em!!!!!!

Hey....it's Northwestern NC....and I can ASSURE you we won't be having any "Big Buck" pics to throw all over the place! This is just a couple of friends getting together to pass some time. We'll hunt, alright....but the largest racked deer I've seen all year wouldn't go 100". I've got PLENTY of 1-1/2yr old 60" deer, though!!! I've seen....oh....19 TOTAL, this year...lol (bucks). I've seen over 150 deer on stand in 25 sittings, though.....so we should be seeing some deer.

I've got a little mission, for us. One of my co-workers is a Boy Scout Leader. He has a few scouts that are part of a TWELVE KID family. We donate our son's hand-me-downs to them every year.....and they're very appreciative of anything we give them (which WE do, anonymously). I asked, recently, if they'd take venison....and they will, gladly. I want to get them one this weekend....and get it on film. I've never been on either side of the camera, hunting.....but I think the eyepiece side is in order...being as how Rob's doing all the driving and license purchasing. We'll see how it goes.

We're gonna eat good.....drink a few....and probably sit back and realize how blessed we are when it's all over. And Ashley, my dog, will probably get her ears rubbed.

Full report from both of us.....later.

Jeff
