OK, I'm not going to read any of the responses because you answered your own questionwhile you were asking it.

If it was private land, then do whatever is allowed as defined by your relationship with the landowner.
If it's public land, please get in early, stay late, don't smoke,and try to be as quiet as possible so the rest of us can get some hunting done too.

illegal is illegal, theres no need to break the law when it is not needed. drag your deer out after you feild dress it, it really couldn't be that hard, ask some buddies to help you if nothing else, there are ways around breaking the law ...
