Default buttonbuckmasters new buck pics

Today at 3pm, I decided to leave work a couple of hours early to hit the woods behind my house for a short hunt. I just had a good feeling about tonight. I got home, showered, changed, and was in the stand by 4pm. I saw a doe and 2 fawns milling around shortly after, and watched them feed into the tree line. About 5pm, I see a small tree thrashing around north of my stand, I assumed it was a squirrel, because there are tons of them at my place. I kept watching and saw legs....buck!! He was about 75 yards north of me hitting his rubline. I watched him make a scrape for what semed like forever, and then I couldn't take it anylonger. Daylight was burning, so I grunted a coulpe of times. He started posturing back and forth, and grunted back. I picked up my buck growl....which I thought was a gimmick until now....and let out a growl. He laid his ears back, and started my way. I hooked the release on the string and hoped that he would continue my direction....he did. I waited for him to enter my shooting lane, and took a 30 yard shot. I saw the arrow hit, watched him stumble for about 10 yards, and he piled up.
He's a five pt buck that dressed 180lbs, 4 on one side, and a freaky spike on the other. 19 inch spread and 5 inch brow tine, 23 inch main beam on the good side.

Congrats on your buck. Sounds like the growl is gaining a loyal folowing.

Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction.

Good hunting and be safe

God Bless

Congrats Dave. I know you were working hard at getting a nice one this year, and it all paid off. Now that you've filled your buck tag, the radio station can return to its regularly scheduled programming. Good work bro, I'm happy for you.Looking forward to seeing the updated pics.
