Pope and Young is basically archery only and the entry level is a little lower.

Boone and Crocket will accept any entry but the bottom line entry is a little higher. I do not know the numbers without looking them up, but I believe that is the case.

In my opinion, I would much rather have a Pope & Young deer because it was taken with a bow...

P&Y is for game taken with archery equiptment, except X-bows. B&C is for anything, archery, rifle, hand gun, pick ups (found dead) or even purchased at a rummage sale. No pen raised or high fence animals. P&Y minimums are 125" for typical and 150" or 155" (I forgot) for non-typical.

The B&C minimums are 170" for typical and 195" for non-typical. These are for the all time record book. B&C also has a "modern day" score for a single time period. The minimums for this are 160" for typical and I believe 185" for non-typical.

For further information go to their respective web sites.

I'd much rather have a booner than a P&Y buck. A booner with a bow is automatically P&Y. I let 125" bucks keep right on walking

A 125" deer is a very nice buck. A 170" buck is an absolute monster.

Not unless you enter it in both organizations. The fee was $25 a piece.

i meant it because it is only bow and arrow...not guns...I take much more pride in killing a big one with my bow than a gun....
