Great buck Justin congrats! I'll be passing through in 2 weeks on my way to find his twin brother. I'll wave in your general direction.
(better than farting in your general direction)
What part of the state did you kill him in?

RE: Big Buck Down - Illinois Style
Thanks again everyone - you guys rock.
To answer some questions - he was killed on private land in McHenry County. We're way up in the Northern part of the state between Chicago and Rockford. Finding land to hunt around here is darn near impossible at this point unless you own land, are related to someone who does, or have a lot of money for a lease. Fortunately we know the owner of this land fairly well and he allows us to hunt there. In fact, this is my first year hunting this particular spot, and was my first time in this stand. You can't beat that.
I'm headed up to Northwest Wisconsin this weekend, near Spooner/Hayward, to try and fill my Wisconsin tag on public ground. Wish me luck!
EDIT - No, I didn't get any of it on tape. I was running late and didn't want to deal with having to set the camera up. Of course the one day I don't bring the arm with is the day I shoot a nice buck. Go figure. We got some good post-kill footage that I'll be including in my journal entry today.

Congrats Chief. I know you guys out west have a lot of difficulty getting into good hunting land without dropping a big chunk of change or owning your own place, it takes people skills and efficient use of your time, big props for getting it done. That's a really nice buck. Going to the taxi?
