Sounds like that was an exciting hunt!!!! CONGRATS on your buck, grunted him in, made a perfect shot, lets just say you deserve a trophy for the hunt. Maybe he will be yours for tha taking next season.

I would have taken the 7pter however there is the school of thought if you wanna shoot big bucks ya gotta let the smaller ones walk. In most cases in the southern tier 7pts is a monster you did the right thing congrats

Congrats on your buck!!! I am also in the souther tier of NY. I have had no luck grunting them in. I saw a nice 6 to 8 point last night through the trees and out of range. I tried to grunt him in but no success. They don't seam to be responding to the calls at all. Must be there just not horny enoughover hear yetLOL I am just outside of Horseheads on rt 13.

Congratulations on the buck! You are obviously in a good spot and hopefully will have more great hunts there in the future. Think of your situation like this, would getting a bigger buck change your life?
