I've never weighed any deer I've shot. I have no idea how much the doe I got last week weighed, but I got 50 pounds of packaged meat from her. Based on this, how much do you think she weighed live?

I have a scoring tape that estimates live, dressed and processed weights based on circumfrence of chest. 50 lbs of processed meat equals 113 lbs dressed and 148 lbs live. she feel that heavy?

How do you process it? Keep the ribs? Just debone it? My grandfather shot a buck in 1950 that he got 168lbs of packaged meat! But back then the left the bone in their steak. Saved the ribs. So on and so forth. The way most poeple clean their deer, by triming everything clean. I figure 35% of feild dressed weight. I do about 25 deer a year, for the neighbors and stuff so I do have a good feel for this.
