Missed.....
a doe showed up around 8:30 opening day and i shot at her at 30 yards....she dropped to her belly at the sound of the shot....i don't know why, she had no idea i was there...i knocked some hair of the top of her back...she walked away and layed down for twenty minutes....i couldn't believe it...then got up and left...

Rule number one when shooting at deer, aim low. A deers first response is to duck when spooked. Sounds like you may have some extreme noise comming from your bow for her to drop that far. Check your equipment. Tighten anythign that may be lose. Do you shoot with quiver on or off? I take mine off. It helps.

Proof positive that inside 30 yards even, that no shot is a gimmie. The deer will drop, turn, or jump even and show us just how good they are at beating us at our own game.

Always aim low! Well almost always I had a deer last year jump straight up in the air when I shot at him last year. I purposely aimed low counting on him to drop and he jumped sky-high. If he would have dropped he would have been a dead buck.[:@] It was the craziest thing. But 99 times out of 100 you should aim low. Just chalk it up to a lesson learned. Seems like those deer are always teaching us hunters lessons.[8D]
