Default It's about time...

My Dad shot his second deer with a bow last night, and I am so happy for him. He got his first bow kill over 15 years ago, and then when he had my sister he stopped bowhunting. Five years ago I got him back into the sport and He has quickly became addicted again. Well last night my dad got in the woods around 3:30pm and after ditting for a short time saw a doe. She was feeding on acorns and making her way up to my dad's stand. Finally she got to 24 yards and he drew back and let the arrow fly. He heard her crash so he waited a half hour and then got down. She ran about 70 yards and was done. My dad thought he hit it a bit low, but it turned out to be a perfect heart shot. He hit it right in the shoulder and the montecs whent right through them. Man I am so happy for him. The spot he killed her was the same spot that I shot my deer and the same spot that Mo Bowhnter shot his. So we have taken 3 deer from the same spot. Now bring on the bucks.

Actually we found out while dressing him, it was a button buck. I couldn't be happier for him though. Here are some pics. The better pic turned out blurry. After that many years of not getting one, he really put a strangehold on him.

That is just awesome!! Correct me if I'm wrong, but ya'll are hunting in the southern part of the state right now, yes? It's amazing how abundand the white oak acorns are down there and how sparse they are around here.....

THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. But they seem to really like them on this ridge for some reason. Hopefully theses does will have some bucks pushing them around in a few weeks.
