RE: rattling
When rattling in the early season ( now thru the end of this month ) do so very lightly as if you were minicking the sounds of two bucks sparring .
If you usereal shed antlers thats even better but it's a good idea to cut the brow tines off so you won't get hurt , if your using a rattle bag just roll it back and forth a few times and maybe smack the bag with your hand .
The more you practice the better you'll get , come the first two weeks of Nov. you'll want to get a little more intense with your rattling.
If you ever heard two bucks fighting then try to sound like that , a real knock down brawl can go on for ten to twenty miniutes , if your in a ground blind you can get away with alot more by stomping the ground and raking some nearby thick brush.
If your in a treestand then all you can do is rattle and maybe rub the side of the tree , try to read some books or watchsome videos on the subject.
Oh one other thing , rattlelightly for about three to five miniutes then let it rest for thirtyor forty miniutes to see what comes in but when it comes to rattling hard and loud you gotta make it sound real so you be the judge .
