Default Deer urine shelf-life.

I was going through my equipment and found a bottle of buck urine from last season. Ithad never been openedand kept in the back of a closet (dark and about 68-70 degrees). Do you think it's still any good? What do the manufacturers claim the shelf-life is?

I am sure it is still good. Just think, if it were not in your closet it would have been on a shelf in a sportinggoods store for you to buy this year.

I don't think the shelf life on Doe Pee is that long . The synthetic Doe Pee could be good for a few years ....

Fresh is best, but the fact that its a sealed bottle means alot.
I figure its still good, had it been 1/2 a bottle I'd say toss it.

You can tell if it is still good by smelling it. If it reeks of ammonia toss it. No ammonia smell it is ok.

The only way to tell if it is still good is to do a taste test. Just dab a little bit of it on a fingertip and taste it. If it's bitter it is still okay. If it tastes sweet it's too old to use.

If it smells like ammonia its bad....I've had some go bad quickly and some has lasted a year and a half.

Good Luck!

I guess I'll toss it...I'd hate to ruin a good hunt because of a $10 bottle of old pee! (Besides, a fella I work with killed a nine-pointer last week with a full bladder, and offered me some).
Thanks!
