I cant speak for the Bushnell but I do have the Nikon 440 and it does everything that I need it to do. I may be a little biased as I am a big Nikon fan though.
I am sure either one would be adequate for what you are trying to do.

I recently picked up the Nikon 440 myself (Team Realtree version) and it works terrific. It got a workout in WY last week and seems very consistent and accurate. In good light the optics are good enough that you almost don't need binos to check out an animal. Clear and crisp.
Really like it. Unfortunately I have no experience with the Bushnell you mentioned.

I have not tried my Nikon 440's yet because they are not here yet. I just ordered them yesterday. But I believed in them enough to order them in the first place...LOL
Nikon - the only way to go for the money. 190.00 delivered to my door.

RE: Rangefinder Nikon 440 or Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout ?
I returned two Bushnell Sport 450's before getting a Nikon 440. When I received the first Bushnell I could stand at one distance (I believe it was about 25 yards) and get three different readings. I figured it was faulty so I sent it back and they shipped another one. Same thing again. So I sent them about $50 more to try the Nikon. Not only did it show the same yardage from the same spot, it showed itin 1/2 yard increments. I say you can't go wrong with the Nikon.

I had a Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport. It worked, just wasn't that compact and wouldnt range black targets on the 3D range. I picked up the Team Realtree Nikon 440 for $190 Delivered and sold the Bushnell. I like it better. I never had a Bushnell YP Scout though so I can't comment on that model.
