I've been bowhunting for nearly 25 years now. I feel I have a pretty good grasp of what a deers antomy is pertaining to where things are when I send an arrow through the animal. When I don't see the animal go down, I come home and collect my thoughts and give the animal time. I have this anatomy site in my bookmarks and I pull it up to review it and double check my thoughts. I'm glad someone took the time and posted the thread years ago so I could review it. I wasn't a newbie then when I bookmarked it. I think it's a great review and a reminder.

If I thought for even1 second that any more then a handful of guys will use this in a similar way Rob............I would have a different opinion. I know.........and I think you do too, that is not the case.

No, as preposterously ridiculous as it may sound, I'm willing to wager that the knowledge you possess was GASP! learned somewhere!
That's right.......it was learned. From my dad as a boy and then through hunter education classes, gun and bow, and PLENTY of initiative on my own out of respect for the animals I was going to hunt. I am not about to apologize for being a responsible, educated hunter........nor do I have any desire to sugar coat the embarrassing actions of those who sleep through the hunter ed classes or just have a "buddy" get them a stamp and then go out and shoot something in the guts and cry here that they did't find it.

A deer hunter should know BASIC anatomy......not just "aim behind the shoulder"

What would you say to a turkey hunter (gun) who didn't know he had to shoot for the head???.........Pretty BASIC huh??.......same thing.
Here let me help you
get them a stamp and then go out and shoot something in the guts and cry here that they didn't find it.

Because, as Atlas has pointed out time and time again, Hunter's Education is required in every state in order to go out and hunt.
Could you show me where I said Hunter's Ed is required in every state?? If not please stopmisquoting me.

I can honestly say that no time was spent learning the anatomy of the animals I would be encountering in the wild.
What asad statement that is............how embarrassing.Did that experience inspire you to try and improve the Hunter Education system in your state??

Atlas is the greatest deer hunt here, he shot a doe, OOPS I mean mature buck, OOPS, I mean a spike last year. No way I can measure up to him, LOL
It's not my fault you are too stupid to understand..........it's hard to discuss something intelligently with someone who has the spelling and grammar skills of a 6 year old.

And don't you think then that others should be afforded that right as well? Why should this sight or a chart like the one which was posted be excluded as a resource from which to learn?

You've dug yourself into a corner on this one, Atlas... and there's no need for me to even check back on this thread.

So why shouldn't that information be posted here on HuntingNet for those taking that initiative to search for it?

Because they should already know it?

But wait, you didn't automatically know it either, you had to learn it somewhere.

Where can it be learned? Here on HuntingNet.

But they should already know it.

Which is why it's posted here for them to learn from.

But it shouldn't be here. They should already know it.

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound, Atlas? Of course not, you're the wisest and the most knowledgable of us all.

Lets all give Atlas a round of applause for being HuntingNet's go-to guy for anything you ever need to know about deer hunting.

(Unless of course that goes for judging a deer's gender before you take a shot at it, then you might want to ask someone else.)

Maybe you should re read the thread.........it was posted as REVIEW.......do you know what REVIEW means??

READ THE THREAD............it was posted as REVIEW........not only that but ALL the comments are from EXPERIENCED hunters...........not first timers or kids.

I know you all want to try and pass this off as some noble adventure to teach our youth...............but the thread title speaks for itself.

So, what's good for the goose is always good for the gander?

Just because its review for some doesn't mean its review for all.
