Better Halfs 11 Point Buck ,2002
Well my husband went out bowhunting this morning. He was hunting a stand that I sat in twice last week and saw 8 bucks from. I had a shots at a couple of good ones but no buck tags left since I used up both of my buck tags last month. This was the first day of his 2 week vacation. He ended up with a 11 pointer coming down the funnel at 20 yards after a lite session of rattling with the doe esturus bleat and grunt tube at 7:40 am. We didnt get to weigh him but I would estimate him at around 230lbs, 140 class buck. I was so happy for my husband. While I have harvested 3 deer in Oct he had yet to harvest his first due to the lack of time to hunt. He got Quality while I got Quanity, we joked about. He happened apon a rabbit hunter back at the truck who was kind enough to offer him his cell phone to call for help, and when the call didnt go through the older gentleman was kind enough to offer to help my husband drag his deer out of the bottom and up a steep ridge. My husband couldnt say enough nice thing about this kind man, A total stranger with such a kind heart. My husband said the gentleman said he no longer hunted for deer he prefered to hunt rabbit with his beagles, but he kept on running his hands over the bucks coat and pating it saying its a nice deer with a big smile on his face. I think my husband had a true angel with him today. And we owe him many thanks for all his kind deeds. The buck has a beautiful rack that I think will be scored as a nontypical. Ill get the photos developed tommorow and post them here. First day of the rut, first day of vaction, first hunt of vaction, he is one happy camper. He is gonna have him mounted, notice the huge swollen neck, THE RUT IS ON IN ILLINOIS!!!!

Wow...140 class ...can't wait to see these pictures...thank God for an angel when your all by yourself...last year I shot an 8 point on top of a steep ridge and it crashed and slid all the way to the bottom...If it wasn't for 2 Amish guy's that pulled it out for me I'd still be carrying it out in 1 lb. packs!!!!!!!!!!
