Scent control reminders
This usually gets brought up sooner or later, so I'll remind ya'll this year.
Most of us go to great lengths to remain as scent free as possible while hunting. It's easy though to overlook parts of what you take it the woods with you. Someone else already mentioned your bow.
Now take a sniff of your watch band. Stinks doesn't it? How about the wrist strap for your release? After a summer of sweating in it, it probably smells like a pair of old work gloves.
If you can smell them, you KNOW the deer will. That's just a couple of the biggest, overlooked offenders. Washing them usually removes the problem . . . for a while.
Good luck this year, guys and gals!

RE: Scent control reminders
I actually bought one of those moon phase, sunrise hunting watches that I only wear when on stand. Kinda corny I guess- but it doesn't stink.
Don't forget your release straps either- stinky buggers.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I don't wear my hunting hatwhile walking to my stand. I have a bald head (hair was falling out anyway) and I find I sweat alot if I wear my hat out while walking. I keep it in a pocket and when I get to my stand I spray scent killer on my head and cool down before I put my hat back on.
