they are a lot of good bows out their go to a pro shop and cheack them out for your self.
that way you can get the best bow that you like. to pick just 1 bow the new hoyt's sound good. bow tech make some good looking ones. just pick one you like to shoot and good luck.

One word. "MATHEWS"
But it will take more than $300 to get one unless you find one used on ebay.

heck you could get a new recurve for just over the 300, I have found GOBS of used recurves in excellent condition worth twice what people are asking if not more!
I agree a proshop is the first place, start shooting as many bows of all makes and models as you can to find the one that suits you the best. Dont dump that money on just any bow, buy the one that feels right, if that means spending another 100 or 150 bucks and having to wait a few months to save it up then so be it! If you do by something to get by, you'll end up buying one in the near future to replace it so do the right thing! Hopefully you can find some smoking deals.
I do know on stickbows a place for smoking deals, if ya want the link email me!

There are alot of bow's out there.. But one thing to remember you get what you pay for...I got a fred bear viper 300 it's a nice lite and small bow this bow is on the lower end for cost..You should go to a pro shop and shoot diffrent bow's and see what one feel's the best to you....good luck with finding your bow....

I dont know if you found a bow yet ,but if not try to find a used one first just to se if you enjoy bowhunting first, I'm sure you will once you've done that then look at buying something more expensive, I've hunted for nearly 24 yrs. and until last year I never bought a new bow. Go with what works for you

RE: I need HELP finding a bow......
My brother has a Martin Tracer Magnum that he paid $300 for full set up (no arrows or release of course)..........small, light, smooth and he shoots it very accurately.
For the $300 I would say he got a good deal.
The Fred Bear TRX is also a very good mid priced bow but I don't think you will find one for $300 new.
Good luck
