First blood of 06!!!
On my way to the gym last night and before i got in the truck i noticed a groundhog out by our barn. Snuck back to the house and go my bow, and screwed on a 125 grn 3blade muzzy from last season... Stalked up to the barn, wind in my face, and wet ground. He had no clue i was there, drew my bow and took one step out and smoked him at 15 yrds (double lung/heart/liver) He ran bout 4 ft and died. Unfortunately that was all the further it took to get under a shed, so i spent bout 20 min getting him out and didnt make it to the gym. But anyway it was worth it!! only 2 weeks!!!!

I had a similar incident once, Ed.
I had one come out and feed directly next to my 30 yard target while I was practicing.
Congratulations and good luck on the upcoming season.

mostly to protect our horses... They dig holes in the fields and the horses arnt smart enough to not step in them and break their legs. So id hate to have to put an expensive horse down just cause of a groundhog. So needless to say we keep a close eye on the groundhog population around our farm.

yes, first thing you learn when hunting on a farm is shoot every groundhog you see. It's one of the best ways to get back in there next year. Heck for that matter you should shoot everyone for target practice just because of the damage they can do.
