rainman,
I bought one after the season ended last year.
I have not been able to use it in actual hunting situations yet, but really like it while practicing with it.
The only thing I am skeptical about it is the seat, however you can purchase a swinging seat (likethe viper seat). I used one off of my old API that works great

Have you seen North stars tree cat stand. It is a leveling stand that uses belts instead of cables (having used cables Ithink the belts are a big improvement) and the bar swings down under the seat. Tried shoot my bow with it up, not good.
It is a preloaded system that you adjust by simply squeezingthe release.Cinches right up and quietly. Has other features that are good as well.269 most places.

I have the equalizer and like it very much. Got mine in time to hunt from it about half a dozen times last year. Like my friend Sideways said, the seat is a bit of a back breaker if you are going to be in it for more than about 3 hours, but they do sell the sling seat.
All-in-all, I'm very happy with it.

My brother has one and loves it. I got to hunt out of it a couple of times and I thought the seat was comfortable. I usually sit facing the tree and use the trunk of the tree for cover.
