Default NY Hunters

Hey all NYS hunters, I thought we should start a thread to show off some of the big bucks that The Empire State can produce, especially out in the western half. I myself am in the Hudson Valley(rockland county). An here is a pic of the buck I got this past season.

Onondaga County

I saw him only once in the field but my dad saw him a few times. Never close enough for a shot.

First of all, that's a nice buck that ya got there.

Here's some of the nicer ones that I'm aware of that have been killed around my house (Steuben County) over the past several seasons.

This 21-pt. (bowkill) was taken about 15 minutes south of me this past season...grossed 203 7/8" and netted 198 7/8" P&Y. There was a story about it in NY Fish & Game Magazine a couple of months ago. Don't ask me why the guy ruined the cape?

A friend of mine killed this buck a couple of miles from the house in 2002. I'd seen this guy several times over the past two years. I'd guess headded around 45" of antler from 3.5 to 4.5. Another buddy has his sheds from 2.5. I really wish that he would have made it another season or two. He had 21-pts...grossed in the upper 180's and netted 180 1/8".

A neighbor killed this 163 3/8" net 11-pt. about a mile from here in 2002.

Another neighbor killed this buck about a mile from the house last season (last hour of last day). He scored 152." I'd also seen this buck several times over the previous years and estimate that he was 8.5 yrs. old.Unfortunatley, I never got so check out his teeth to confirm this. My uncle has a shed off of him from 2001 when he was at least 4.5 (based on mass) then and woulda score right around 140. I believe he had longer tines back in 2003and was likely on his way downhill. Still, its incredible that a buck could live that long around here!

This 19-pt. was killed onproperty bordering a buddy of mine's farm in 2001...scored 170".

This 17 pt. was killed about a half hour north of me last fall in Ontario County. Grossed 201 6/8" and netted 192 6/8." I think that there was also a new state record muzzlelaoder typical (180-181") taken lastseason in Ontario County not far from where this one was killed.

Lastly, this 10-pt. is the biggest buck I've seen so far this summer.

Man, I wish more of our NY bucks would make it to 5-6 yrs old!!! [:'(]

WNY, were any of those bucks killed on State Land? I know there is a bunch of it in the Steuben, Alleghany regions.

BTW: Awesome looking bucks!

Look at the size of the body on that deer and the head also!!!! that is HUGE for a NY deer.

ZDEERSLAYER, where do you hunt? There isn't much land in rockland county.
