Same broadheads you hunt with?

Same broadheads you hunt with?
When practicing with broadheads, is it better to practice with the exact heads you will hunt with, or to separate the broadheads you practice with from the ones you hunt with? In the past, I always split my 6-pack3 for practice/ 3 for hunting. I did this so my hunting blades wouldn't dull. However, if there were any defects in my hunting heads, Iwouldn't find out until it was too late. What does everybody else do?

RE: Same broadheads you hunt with?
i usually buy new broadheads every year, so i just practice with the ones left from the previous year. A defect in the broadhead that you can't notice with the naked eyeisn't going to make that big of a difference, human error on each shot would probably be more. If it changes it i wouldn't think it would be any more than like an inch, probably less. You are still going hit where you are aiming.

Depends on what kind you use. If they have the chisel point just replace the blades. For cut on contact I would waste one for practice and make sure the others spin ok when installed.

For my COC heads I make sure my bow is shooting replaceable blade heads to my liking and then fling the COC tipped arrows a couple of 3 times, if they land true they are resharpened & put away.
