Default Got one tonight but not the way I intended

Well I got a yearling tonight but insteed with an arrow out of my Patriot going at about 270fps I used something with a little more kinetic energy, A 1999 Ford Ranger EXT cab 4x4 going at 88 fps (60mph) Not the end to the hunting this afternoon that I was looking for. It knocked both my fog lamps, front spoiler, license plat, dented the bumper, tore up the transmittion cooler lines, busted the radiatior and air conditioner, to top it all off it pretty much tore the deer to peices it caught under my truck so no meat to show for all the damage. The insurance company is getting a call in the morning, I just hope they can get it fixed in about a week because firearm season starts the 16th.

Sorry to hear or your misfortune.

On the flip side, sounds like you got a passthrough and a good blood trail.

I would upgrade to the F150 for better kinetic energy and less damage to the truck!

Sorry to hear about the damage , that sucks!

Here we go again...
If you want a real weapon then get the Chevy - it's quieter and more forgiving - more KE etc... Warranty is great - fit, finish - and it has a better grip than the FORD...

Aim small miss small

I disagree. The ford ranger was the right choice of weapons. But I don't understand all the damage. I rolled my 1999 Ford Ranger EXT cab 4x4 on a gravel road doing 60+ mph (late for work) and the thing still wanted to drive after it stopped! Mechanically it was fine. But I turned the cab into a convertable. Sorry to hear about your damage. I really liked my Ranger so I know how you feel.

bigcountry25 your choice of weapon was good, but the terminal equipment was inadequate for your prey, what you needed was an I beam welded in place of your front bumper!!! These far surpass any mechanicals out there and are the best of the fixed equipment!

Sorry I had to say it, hopefully you will be back on the road soon, good luck for the rest of the season.

My hunting rig (1971 Ford Bronco) is getting a nice brush gaurd/bumper combo to help protect that old sheetmetal from the deer. It isn't so agile, it needs a little protection. I do end up dodging a lot of deer on my drive to hunting (1.5 hours away), in the dark, so I think a gaurd up front is a good idea.
