Light on a Spot Hogg in IL. Legal?

Can I use the light on my Spot Hogg in IL?

Is it just an LED light shining on your pins?
If so, that is legal in Illinois but not eligible for record book entry since it is considered an electronic device.
(the way I understand it anyhow)

on my cj the batteries are dead.. im not going to buy more batteries since each one is like 5 bucks

Yeah its the little bracket and blueish light that shines on you pins. It doesn't project light on the deer.

Can electronics only not be used on the weapon for record book entries? What about using a rangefinder? Would that disclude a record book entry.
