Any Southwestern Pennsylvania Hunters out there?

RE: Any Southwestern Pennsylvania Hunters out there?
I've never hunted there but last week we spent a couple of days in the Uniontown (Fairchance) area with friends who live there and I've got to tell you that is some beautiful country. The talk in that area was about a 700+ lb. bear killed near Fort Necessity recently....I'm no authority on bears, but that sounds like a big 'un. We were impressed with the beauty and the friendly folks....hope to return sometime. Are you in that area?

Fairchance is about 40 minutes away (Fayette County), it's about 35-40 minutes away. Good hunting there too. Mt. Morris is about 1 mile from the West Virginia state line, approx. 10 minutes from Morgantown. Waynesburg, Pennsylvania is about 20 miles north of Mt. Morris. The deer hunting has been great the last couple of years in these parts, mainly because of the antler restrictions imposed on the deer. If you drive 5 minutes south into West Virginia (Northern, WV) their hunting is terrible due to the states poor management and slaughtering of does in the last several years.

I live in Franklin County, but do my opening day in Greene County. We started out hunting the Consol property, North of Ninevah. Didn't have much luck there, so we are going to try the game lands 223 this year. I go out that way to hunt with my dad for the first day.
