do they work year around or just this time of year, i was debating either a trace mineral block or just throw out a salt block but i think ill go with the mineral, some more feedback would be great. mobowhunter is there any other way to use them besides just setting them out on the ground?

For only about $30 you can combine that trace mineral and create a MUCH more effective mineral site and have 200 lbs of the stuff for year round mineral supplentation.
WHITETAIL DEER HOMEMADEMINERAL MIX RECIPE
Ingredients: Makes 200 lbs. for about $30.00
1 part Di-calcium phosphate, this is a dairy feed additive bought at feed stores.
Comes in 50lb Bags, you need one bag.
2 parts Trace mineral salt, the red and loose kind without the medications.
Comes in 50lb Bags, you need two bags.
1 part Stock salt, ice cream salt.
Comes in 50lb Bags, you need one bag.
Directions:
-Use a 3 pound or similar size coffee can to use as your measure for each part of the mix.
-Mix all together well but not until read to use, keep ingredients separate until ready to put to use.
-Dig or tear up a circle in the soil about 36 inches wide and about 6 inches deep.
-Mix your mineral mixture with the soil.
Maintenance:
-Replenish in 6 months with fresh supply of, mineral and then each year there after.

well i dont really want to get into that this late into the season im thinking of doing next year.Is there any other way to use the blck besides just setting it on the ground

Deer would MUCH prefer to have a granular mixed with the soil than block form in which they have to wait for rain to force the block to disolve in the soil. A deer just isn't that comfortable actually licking a block. A loose mineral form is a much more productive way to deliver your mineral.

IL-Cornfed do you put the whole 300lb in 1 spot. I know with stuff like Deer Cocaine they say not to put to much in the ground becuase the deer will leave it alone till it desolves to there acceptable lvl of minerals per sq foot or something like that.
