Who here hunts with decoys extensively?

And what are your best set ups. I have a bedded doe decoy, thinking about picking up another standing decoy and setting it up as a small one antlered buck tending the bedded doe for my rut hunting. It will be in an area where I have mock scrapes, and I'll put scent near the decoys.

What are your most succesful set ups, buck behind doe? In front of doe?

Since bucks usually aproach a doe from behind and a buck from the front, I'm thinking about placing the buck facing me at about 20 yards, and the doe a little closer and perpendicular off my line of sight, facing away so her rear is towards the buck. Imagine a cross lying on the ground. I am at the base of the cross. The buck is at the top, facing me. The doe is on the right arm, facing away.

What do you think?

Sounds like a great idea!I also have a doe decoy bedding down!
I would face the buck decoy broadside with his head closest to you.
wind factor usually plays a great part also!LET ME KNOW how it works!!!GOODLUCK!!!
