Sniffing Paint Fumes

Sniffing Paint Fumes
I just built a new ladder to go with a new stand and painted it yesterday. Obviously the smell of spray paint fumes on it is pretty strong. I plan on taking out and setting it up with a new stand tomorrow (saturday). My question is how long do you think I need to leave it before I hunt out of it or do you think the deer will not associate the smell with human odor and will still come within range?
I know I've seen deer walk right by a truck that a hunter parked and left only minutes before and did not seem alerted at all. Do you think the smell of paint would be similar to fertilizers and other chemicals deer smell often? I've seen deer in another stand that had been painted only a week before I sat in it and they were not alarmed.
Anybody have any experiences where they've painted a stand, blind, etc and then hunted in it?

The paint smell may be a problem for the deer, but I'd say something new in their woods will be more worrysome to them.

Something new as stated above would be more worrysome. Some guys actually use turpentine for masking scent. I was a painter and so was my buddy and we used to go hunting right after work and there was no time for a shower. We seen and bagged many a buck. The question is was it oil or latex. Some Latex as ammonia in it which may or may not alarm deer. But oil has mineral spirits of subturp in it which won't hurt. But if you want to let the smell go away, let it stand for 3 or 4 days outside.

i painted my metal ladder i made and set it up three days prior to season and hunted it and have seen plenty of deer BUT i hunt like right beside a chemical plant and it always has soe kind of smell coming from it and i think it affects the deer some on how much they pay attention to scent but i still think its important
