I have a Summit Viper and it is very noisey running the cables into the stand to set up.
Hm, not mine. Very quiet indeed. Has the rubber coating worn off of yours? Not arguing, but mine is very quiet.

No MOBO..just not as quiet as it should be IMO. If I go REAAAAAL slow and install the cable like a surgeon performing a surgery it is quiet...but still nowhere near as quiet as going at light speed with a lone wolf.

Hey, mobow and hardcore, do you guys sometimes find it a pain, depending on the type of bark, to get the cable to slide down the treeas you release your weight fromit when you're climbing down? I sure do......I think that's been my only gripe about this thing thus far.

I too have a Summit Viper (the Viper X4) and love it!!! I have noticed that depending on the tree, it will bite into the bark- and bite hard - to where you have to take your toe and reach down and kick up the bottom platform a little, to loosen it. Now THAT is a secure tree stand! [8D]

My Viper X4 is quiet too, but if I rush snaking the cables through, the metal loop might clang inside. If I take my time and be quiet, the Viper is very very quiet to setup.

Makes me mad when my friend, who critiques every piece of hunting equipment I buy (and doesn't do NEARLY as much research), is having no problems what so ever descending in his Ol' Man[:@]
