I shoot Gold Tip XT hunters...should I be using 5575's or 7595's?
I'm shooting a Mathews outback..29" 70#. My local pro shop, which I like a lot, cut me 6 GT XT 5575's? Looking at the chart in the cabelas archery catalog...my draw length and weight...should be 7595's...I'm shooting great groups with this setup and 5575's...should I not worry about it?? Thanks for any and all help.

Technically you are underspined, however a lot of people I know shooting binaries are doing OK with underspined arrows. I am guessing the level nock travel helps with this. It is hard to tell though what would happen if you put fixed blade broadheads on the front.

Need to know your tip weight saltflyz. If your using 100 grns your right at the upper limit of the arrow but probably ok. Especially if your shooting great. If your using 125's your underspined. I shot 5575's last year w/ 72# and 28.25" w/ 125. I was underspined and as a result im switching back to 100 grns. Hoping this will tighten my groups and spare me some arrow costs... (I was getting split nock ends and cracks in the shaft). I guess i shoulda changed earlier but the guy at the pro shop set me up and apparently im more a pro than he is. Anyway thanks to this forum i've become a more informed and tech savvy archer. Now im not so dependent on the proshop guys who really arnt pros....Unfortunately the proshop is an hr away from me so i bought 2 doz arrows so my only choice now is to use 100s.
If you stay w/ your arrow weight keep an eye on your shaft if they show sings of fatigue switch to stronger arrows. I'd hate to hear about one exploding into your forearm as you release.

I'm using 100 gr....what are binaries? Thanks for the help. I saw some of those pics when a carbon arrow exploded through people's wrists....not pretty.. Will the 5575's with 100 grain be ok?

you should be alright, your right at the upper limit but still in the range. I shot for a while being underspined and the only consequence was i didnt have very tight groups at long distances and it made it tough to tune so fixed blades flew properly. Binaries is short for Binary Cam. If you dont get tight groups you can either drop your poundage back a bit or get new arrows. The cheapest solution is to drop the poundage back.

My thoughts. Slap a BH on them and see what happens. I've shot both and the 5575 do take on a right cuve. 3-4" of of the 7595 @ 30yrds. Didn't check any farther, but expect them to increase as the distance grows. Just get some 7595's to compare. Your going to need more anyways and you can use the 7595's regardless.

In the long run I'd go with the 7595's but you'll be very safe with your present GT's at 65# rather than your present draw weight of 70#. It looks like you'll only lose about 10 fps going to the lower draw weight and your arrow is still going to be hitting 285 or more.
