Default Shot distances

What is the average shooting distance with a bow, also what is the farthest shot any of you has ever made on a whitetail and been successful?

my average with over 25 bucks has been under 20 yds. My longest shot was this year at 35 yds. I am willing to shoot to 40 yds if everything is perfect, but I shoot all year and have been practicing for that shot for many years. I still may pass on it if it ever materializes.

I've shot 2 deer with a bow and both was at about 12 yards. I like them close, makes it harder to miss!!

Well...I ain't never killed a deer with my bow yet. But all of my gun kills have been 30 yds or less with the exception of one. I figure my bow kills will be the same. I'm comfortable shooting out to about 35 yds, but I figure my first bowkill will be in the 10-20 range.

My limit with the perfect shot and conditions would be 40. I can shoot good out to 60, but would never take a shot that far on game. I just find practicing longer than I will shoot, tightens my groups at my effective range. My longest was 35 yards.

the 3 deer I've taken this year were at 10,12 and 15 yds. My average for all deer taken with a bow is 13 yds. The farthest was only 20 yds. I would shoot out to 25 if things were perfect.

My longest was 36 yds I feel comfortable out to 40 but the most of the deer I have taken with a bow have been 20 and under.
