I am a life member and have enjoyed the subscription. I too was an off & on member for many years. And yes, they did send stuff (and I actually ordered some stuff), but it is no were near as bad as, say, the NRA. If/when they send you something, you have no obligation to 1) pay for it or 2) return it. The life membership wasn't too bad of a deal - got some nice stuff ($100 gun case, compact cleaning kit, and other things). I like the magazine - no it isn't a bow mag (not supposed to be), it is a hunting mag for NA and they do well at that - they give a lot of current issue topics across the country and have some good hunting articles.

As for the give away and field test perks, I have tested a couple things, but never won anything. I tested a small lantern-type light, some hand wash, and just got a larger battery operated lantern (pretty nice unit). You get to keep any tested products. I also got a survey over the winter and it looked as if I may get to test a Matthews or other type of bow. I got excited, but never got anything - oh well.

I've been a member for a couple years. The magazine is okay and if you are a beginner like me, it can definately be helpful. But for experienced people the tactics are pretty basic. Try it for a year and see if you like it yourself. There are a lot of different comments on the club. I still support them.

I have been a member for many years now and really enjoy many of the members on the NAHC forum. You're right about all of the "junk" but since I became a Life-Member, the "junk mail" has really lightened up. I think the Club realized that they really turned a lot of you off.

I've been a member for many years. I figure the membership price is no worse than most magazine subscriptions and I actually like their magazine. I've gotten several things to test, but mostly little stuff : a couple of different scent killer sprays, a package of Powerbelt muzzleloader bullets, an elastic thing to hold can calls. Last Friday though I hit the motherlode! I had a 6-foot long box waiting for me and inside was a PMI Cover System that I see in Cabela's all the time. It is 2 complete 6-branch systems .... that sell for $60 EACH in Cabela's ... for me to test and keep for free! This will cover at least 8 years of memberships!! I never considered buying one of these, but it will come in very handy for brushing-in ground blinds or to use on a climber when it is hard to find a tree you can climb AND some cover nearby.

They do send a fair amount of junk mail, but I've never been sent something that they expected me to pay for or send back. I'll keep my membership and hope for more items to test! To each their own.

You're right about all that junk turning it's members off. I got a whitetail deer book that I never ordered and they said I had to pay for it or send it back. That thing is still sitting around here somewhere. When I tried to leave the club, it was like herpes. They just kept coming back. It took almost 6 months before they finally left me alone. Shoulda known though. If it sounds too good to be true.......

I'm a member, but won't renew! They spend too much on advertisements and the magazine isn't worth it. I got a few item from them to field test, but don't expect the good stuff. I think it's reserved for the high rollers that send them big bucks.

I would stay away to. They changed their BB and now there is a bunch of advertising on the side. What they won't do for money and if you complain than they they will ban you from the board. So save your money.

Well not sure how they changed bulletin board, but as far as advertisement, just look along the bottom, top and all over here. Just a fact of life, that is how they pay for things and keep the server going!
