Default Successful Night

I got into my stand a little early last night so I could trim a few limbs and hang some scent bombs out. I had no longer got into my stand and got set up, when I heard a deer sneaking in from behind me. I turned around and was looking at a nice buck winding the tinks 69 I had put out. He came in and walked right up to one of the bombs, but was behind some brush. He finally turned and started to walk away from me, but stopped quartering away at 21 yards. I had an old dead tree with a fork between me and him, and he was behind a briar bush. I found one hole about 10 inches in diameter and shot through the fork and centered the hole in the briars. I took out both of his lungs, and he went about 40 yards and was done. Their was not a whole lot of blood to follow which surprised me because of the way he was hit, but where he went down there was plenty. Most of it was still inside him when I dressed him. He was a six point and his rack was even with his ears and with good height. He was not a first year deer as his face had alot of grey in it. He weighed 165 pounds dressed. I took him in one of the nastiest thickets you could ever imagine. Me and my two little boys trimmed a trail through this mess for 3 hours one day about a month ago so I could get in quiet and keep the wind in my face. It was special to me because we did it together and they were there to help dad find his deer. A good shot on a nice buck, and the look on my little boys face to be there with dad, man, does it get any better than that? Sorry guys, no pictures as I don't have the stuff yet, and don't know if I could figure out how to do it if I did. Good luck to you all this season, and god bless.
