Me and My dad got new bows!
My dad boughta Bowtech Tomkat yesterday, he got a sight, whisker bisket, a bow case, arrows, a release and a hat for a little over 600 bucks! He gave me his old bow and we had it turned down to 48 lbs. I got a peep sight put on it, a string loop and i got a new release! This will be my first year hunting with a compound!

Ya, what did your dad used to shoot? That's great that everything worked out well for both of you. Man, I didn't get a hat when I got my bowtech! Just a stupid bumper sticker that I will never use. I'm not putting a bumper sticker on my Sebring Coupe. Maybe if I had a beat up hunting truck I would think about it. Nikki got a hat, key chain, and a hoyt window decal with her Rintec. She seems to really like the hat. I told her it was a pretty expensive hat, and it was nice of them to throw in the bow.
Good luck with your new bows. Just make sure the one your dad gave fits you as far as draw length goes and that you shoot enough to be profecient by the time the season comes. If your not don't be afraid to take this season off and wait until next year. Confidence plays a HUGE role in bowhunting. Better to wait and be prepared then rush things and make a mistake you will kick yourself over for years. You should have plenty of time if you stick to it though.
Post some picks of them if you can.

Im shooting a high country, dont know what model i just know its a high country. He got it in the 80's lol. Its set at 27 inch draw and 48 lbs and it shoots 170.8 fps. If i dont feel comfortable with it this year i will use my crossbow that i used last year. Im shooting 85 grain field tips for now, until I got up to 55 lbs. Im on spring break now so I will be shooting alot lol.
