RE: Much Worry Over Little Issues
HMMM
my 2 cents worth.
Sounds like you're right on track. It also sounds like it's nothing in your equipment that's causing the stringing. I've been told that when you're stringing shots consistently at one distance but not another than its something subconscience in youraiming that your changing. Try this.
Get some of those little round paper lable dots and start aiming at them rather than a 4" bullseye. Train yourself to aim at the smallest possible aimpoint. This will help get those groups down at the longer ranges. Dont get discouraged if you miss the dot. The dot is not the purpose for the excersise. The group is. The dot purpose of existence is to give you a smaller aimpoint to hold on for the purpose of grouping. In field archery targets there is a small "X" in the center of the 6 or 8 inch bullseye(if I remember correctly). It gives a better aimpoint to reference for consistancy.
I was taught never to change anything on the bow untill you can group 1". You have to be consistant, or otherwise you're just chasing your shots all over the target.
