Alright lets set some things straight! First of all if you enjoy spending every waking moment with your mate, more power to ya. But you are living a fairy tale! I got my g/friend into bird hunting first.....now i cant leave home with out her. Then it was ice fishing, yep you got it! Now it is Archery, yep same ol! So now when we plan a hunting/fishing trip guess who gets the 3rd degree at home if he doesnt ask? I also hunt with a couple of good ol boys that have old fashoned beliefes about women in hunting camp. So you guessed it i did NOT get invited on the colorado elk hunt this last fall! I enjoy hunting and fishing with her, just not all the time! To much of a good thing, can be a bad thing trust me!

1. I guess that's why we got married. Sounds pretty simple to me.

2.Would you rather have the alternative? Her complaining everytime you left because she hated hunting?

3. So you couldn't find others to go out west with? Big deal if they didn't invite you because of her. Sounds like you need some new friends.

All I'm saying is, you have it pretty good compared to the alternative.

You didn't get much advice here on what to look at, so I will throw my opinion in.

Two bows I would consider looking at are the Alpine Micro and the Rintec by hoyt. The Jennings Rack Master light is pretty nice as well. Hoyt and bowtech have some nice womens bows that are more expensive, but you said you were looking for affordable.

Here is my girlfriends bow I got her last year. It is an Alpine micro that I think I paid $190 for.

Here is a link to a thread I started a while ago after she had been shooting for a while. It has a few more pics.

I think she is getting it!

As far as shooting with your wife, I love the fact that my Girlfriend shoots with me. This way when my buddies and I shoot she can be part of it and doesn't feel left out. It is also something we can do together when at home. I want to get her kids into it as well. She has no desire to hunt though, at least not bow hunt. I think I could talk her into gun hunting out of a blind though. I'm almost sure I could talk her into turkey hunting if I could get her to shoot a shotgun.

She shoots well enough that I am getting her a rintec in target colors for her birthday next week. We were at fairly local shop in the next state over and they have 4 models in stock in target colors, three of which she really liked. The rintecs are $380 for target colors and $300 for camo. They shoot much nicer than Alpine micro as far as felt recoil and and the such, but they are 100 bucks more as well. She looked at a rintec when we got the alpine, but for some reason she liked the alpine better. Now that she has been shooting for a while she has changed her mind[]. Maybe the fact that I can more afford it now makes a difference. I have a better job now and have been working a fair amount overtime.

I like the alpine enough that I might keep it for myself or to teach others to shoot with since it is so adjustable for draw length and is lighter in draw weight.

I agree with the above, do not get her one as a suprise. Take her to a shop and let her try a few and let them set some up for her and let her decide.

I just got my wife into archery and we get her a Hoyt Selena and she loves it. They are made just for women shooters and I think all together we paid $600 and that is with all the goodies. the bow it self runs about $475.

Take a look at the Bowtech line, they have some good bows for women and small shooters,my wife liked the TomKat,brother-in-laws GF liked the equalizer.
Diamond has some good bows,Browning and Hoyt.
Let her shoot some diffrent ones and let her decide.

My wife did the same thing see watched for about a year and decided thats she wanted to doit, now I can't stop her,3-d shoots,Leauges, hunter safety, can't drive by a pro shop with out stopping to see what new things they have.

Well I have to say Im happy for yall that love spending all your free time with your sig. other! Congrats to ya! Call me selfish. Call me arogant, ignorent whatever I like a little alone time! I like spending time with the fellas. I like spending time burping, farting and telling ronchy jokes! I dont know about yall, but I cant do all that if there is a lady present. I dont mind taking her with on occasion, I just dont want to have her with all the dang time. Do yall go shopping with your women everytime she heads for the mall? Does she want you with every time she heads for the mall? Does that make either one or you ignorent or arogent? Because boy if you dont want to take her with to the woods you are a shovanistic pig according to some of ya!!!!!

My girlfriend is shooting a Parker Micro Phoenix in 40 - 50 lb. draw. She got it as a hunting bow but I've got to say that it is damn impressive as a target bow as well. If yours is just going to use it for target I would recommend less weight (30-40lb.)

I thought we were talking about bows for our wives.

Nobody visits this board for marital advice.

I was talking to someone about this today and they suggested the genesis... Any thoughts?
