Question for you Ohio bowhunters.
Chances are very good I'll be spending a week this fall in NE Ohio doing some bow hunting. My wife's family is from there and a couple of them hunt. They want me to go along, and hey....I wanna go along. Now, they of course have some spots to hunt, but where can I get some information on public ground? Does Ohio have a published book or something I could get my hands on? From there I would have to check on getting topo maps. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

RE: Question for you Ohio bowhunters.
Ohio is a great place to hunt, hope this helps. Just click on the area of Ohio that you want under the complete listings of wildlife area maps tab and you will get the public parks, some have hunting others don't just look at them all. They have a browse publications tab on the left and you can go to a public hunting maps but that part must be down cause it does not work. hope this helps, here is the link... www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/Hunting/wildlifeareas/wildare.htm

mobowhuntr.... That's cool about hunting in Ohio.
Here is a link to Ohio DNR that will tell you everything you need to know:

I would love to go to Ohio (especially SE Ohio) and go hunting. They have some monster deer there and they are plentiful. Many many years ago, I was stationed in Cleveland while in the USCG but never went hunting. My neighbor is from Chillicothe (sp?) and used to go hunting years ago and talks about how it was back then in SE Ohio and how it still is today.
I hope the link helps you out. Good luck!!!
