Default making your own stand

i bought a $60 cheap ladder stand and it has the smallest platform and kind of uncomfortable tohunt a all day hunt so i was thinking of welding some angle iron on and make a large shooting platform and screwing a lawn chair on it
will it be safe any other ideas for stands

ps i love paint

sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I have a few of the cheap ladder stands similar to what you describe. I use them as ladders only to get to a hang on stand. Works really well giving you a safe way to hang the stand.

Depends on how much your life is worth, and only you and/or your family can answer that question.

and then add about 200' of ladder extentions to it. Then you can bungee jump off of it.

Lol, it'll be as safe as you make it...good luck, great "paint".

If you have to ask (if it will be safe)...then the answer is no.

Especially do NOT use angle iron. Might as well use spaghetti, or you'll need so much cross bracing that the thing will weigh 500 pounds.

Save up a few $$ and buy a decent stand when you can afford it.
