Spring gobbler

RE: Spring gobbler
Any time I've had turkeys come into bow range during deer season I've almost always been pegged. Turkeys look up all of the time looking for things perched in trees that might swoop down on them.

Hunting spring turkey from a treestand is alot different from having them happen by in the fall....it's majorly difficult to draw on a bird coming to your calling from a treestand....If bowhunting, I'd extremely recommend a ground blind.....

RE: Spring gobbler
I have had quite a few opportunity with turkey in a tree stand. Out of the 50 or so encounters I have only been smooth enough to take 1 gobbler with a 10 inch. beard. It walked by a small evergreen tree and I drew. When it walked out it got thumped. Pretty tough from the air. Maybe with some decoys on the ground taking focus away from the air you might have better luck. Let us know how it comes out if you give ita try.
