Lots of folks here where I shed hunt hit areas way to early.Shed hunting isvery popular and getting competative almost to a point thatsome guys fight over "areas"Another negative aspect of it is that guys will often go in and bump deer all over and move elk from one drainage to another or around the mountain so to speak. My point is they scatter the animals all over just to pick up 1 shed. I see it all the time with bulls shedding here. Elk get run all over the country. If the deer your keeping tabs on aren't being pushed you have a better chance of recovering those sheds imo.
