First Deer

RE: First Deer
I got my first two deer this year. It was my 3rd year, but my first one where I got a lot of time in the woods. Had a chance at a doe my first year, I drew on her as she passed by but I thought there was a buck following her so waited to see it. It never came and she left. There I go for waiting. Did not wait the second time. Drilled a doe at 10 yards then later a nice 10 point buck on my Birthday at 20 yards. NIce present to myself.

9 years hunting with a shotgun = no deer.
first year bowhunting = first deer, my biggest to date too 110" 8 point.
The only deer I ever passed up before that were because of poor shot angles, choices, etc.

RE: First Deer
Hunted about 5yrs with a gun and taken a few. It was 2nd year with a bow before I took a shot at a deer, missed but the silly thing ran then circled back to see what the noise was, got him clean with my 2nd shot. I had to wait for a buck cause up here its one tag each, lottery to see if its an any deer tag, my tag was buck only.
